THE ANATOMY
OF A COMMISSION
-
Every commission begins with a private consultation call. This is an introductory space for us to align on timelines, silhouettes, and the overarching aesthetic direction of your wedding day. It is an opportunity to ensure that our creative energies and expectations are perfectly matched before moving forward into the atelier.
-
Once we decide to embark on the commission together, our second meeting delves far deeper into the emotional fabric of the garment. Here, we discuss the symbols, qualities, and personal narrative you wish to embody.
This session is informed by a philosophy rooted in my Bolivian heritage, where textiles are traditionally revered not merely as surface decoration, but as a sophisticated medium for storytelling and living narrative. Together, we map out the intangible elements you want woven into the very identity of your gown, transforming your personal history into the architecture of the dress.
-
With the narrative established, the physical architecture of your gown begins to take shape. This is a dual phase of rigorous curation and structural drafting:
The Sourcing: We begin a meticulous curation phase, sourcing the finest silks and historical laces from mills across Europe, or when a vision demands it, we look beyond what currently exists, designing custom lace patterns or exclusive textile prints developed completely from scratch within the atelier.
The Prototype: Simultaneously, your gown is brought to life in a toile, a prototype constructed in cotton muslin and tailored precisely to your measurements. In this vital meeting, we sculpt and refine the initial architecture directly onto your frame, perfecting the balance and scale before a single cut is made into your final luxury fabrics.
-
What follows is a highly curated series of fittings as your actual gown is meticulously assembled. In these meetings, we refine the internal corsetry, adjust the fluid drape of the fabric, and tune the finest details based on how the garment moves, breathes, and responds to your presence. This iterative process ensures that the final piece fits with absolute, effortless security.
BRIDAL ARCHIVE
Mayra,
Transformation
One gown, two landscapes. Conceived as a fluid canvas, transforming from a sheer, cap-sleeve silhouette in an intimate garden ceremony in France; to a sleeved, grand-train statement gown in the heights of Bolivia. An intentional piece crafted to move between two worlds without losing its soul.
